When The Lights Come Up

Feeling lately like there might be something more

But feeling good in the evening is easy

Don’t wanna wake up in the morning anymore

Nothing good ever comes from the TV

I'd rather stay out til the lights come up

With the silence in my mind down at Two Street

In the modern times you know nothing really shines

Quite as bright as it used to

But when I undress you, you glow in the dark

It's like getting stoned, out in Delores Park

Up in the city they’ve burnt out the stars

No one really thought we’d take it this far

But here we are

Feeling lately like we kinda missed the boat

We would’ve stayed had we’d been able to get close

It's like there’s nothing left for anyone to hold

& it’s a shame what we have traded that in for

But when I undress you, you glow in the dark

There’s no use for owning the gold in your heart

But up in the city they’ve burnt out the stars

No one really thought we’d take it this far

We put this together just to take it apart

But once it got rolling, we just kinda forgot

Up in the city they’ve burnt out the stars

No one really thought we’d take it this far

But here we are
